Rough Cut Spirits & Provisions is a Flagstaff distillery making slow-paced, heavy spirits that keep their botanical oils for an unpolished, distinct taste.
The lineup covers three flagship spirits, a canned N/A mixer line, and B-Side Provisions, a run of syrups and liqueurs named in a nod to vintage records.
Pain Points to Fix
The owners were turning a long-time home distilling hobby into a commercial operation and needed a brand that felt right, rooted in Flagstaff and retro blues.
With products running from spirit bottles to syrups to apparel, one or two marks couldn’t carry that range.
The Turnout
I positioned Rough Cut against the smooth, easy-drinking spirits on every other shelf, then pulled color and type from vintage blues records and posters. The primary seal was worked out in pencil before the snake and guitar were rendered.
Each mark got a defined role based on what survives at its size, carrying across bottle labels, syrups, cans, case packaging, and merch.
